Open Access Korea National Repository
As a knowledge cooperation system where industries, universities, research institutes and experts participate in, anyone can participate including the government, private organizations, academic societies, libraries and research institutes.
OAK plans to contribute to the spread of OAK as the following :
Building governance system, establishing public access policy, supporting the publication of global-level academic journals, implementing repository development and distribution activities and holding events and promotion activities to spread open access in Korea.

OAK establishes open access governance system in cooperation with industries, universities and research institutes.
The upsides of constructing open access governance system :
· Create an open access-based precyclic academic information distribution system in Korea
· Build a knowledge cooperation system through voluntary partnership of the government, industries, universities, research institutes and researchers
· Increase the public’s access to information and contribute to reduce information gap
· Contribute in improving not just economic benefit but also research competitiveness of all stakeholders of academic communication
