National Library of Korea launched Online Archiving & Searching Internet Sources (OASIS) in 2004 to collect and preserve digital intellectual archives for passing down them as a cultural heritage for future generations.

* Article 22 of the Library Act (collection of online materials)

  • This is for the preservation and permanent use of internet knowledge resources, as the most important intellectual resources in the digital age, in line with the ‘Digital Heritage Preservation Charter’ in October 2003.

  • Many intellectual creations, produced as a form of digital product, are disappeared after being released in a short time. Accordingly the National Library of Korea, a treasury of the national intellectual heritage, carries out collecting and preserving contemporary digital intellectual resources to leave for future generations.

  • You can explore current web archives through the OASIS in the National Library of Korea.
