On July 1(Fri), the NLK held the late professor Suh Moo-song’s(first generation geographer) individual repository donation ceremony. The donated materials include 21 books of Daedong-yeojido transcript, 10 books of Complete Map of Korea, 263 books of Geological Map of Korea, 2,787 books related with caves, Karst topography in Korea. The individual repository is named after Suh Moo-song, Suh Moo-song’s individual repository.
Professor Suh Moo-song is the founder of the Speleological Society and the first limestone topography researcher. In particular, he is a pioneer of cave tour, as he led the development of Gosu Cave in Danyang and introduced limestone caves to ordinary people. He explored about 130 domestic and foreign limestone caves and contributed greatly to the development of the Karst topography field, gave a new name to cave sediment etc.
